Composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer, Ribeiro DiCastro explores music as both narrative and image. His work moves between experimental, electronic, minimalist, alternative rock, and classical music, creating immersive and cinematic sonic landscapes.
Since 2004, Ribeiro has been composing soundtracks for theater and film, as well as developing original works that intertwine the unconscious with a visceral expressiveness.
His background includes studies in music education, composition, and conducting at UNIRIO, along with an immersion in sound art at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage. This experience expanded his approach toward more intuitive and experimental expressions, engaging in dialogue with composers such as Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, John Lennon, Nelson Cavaquinho, Cartola, João Gilberto, Apparat, Villa-Lobos, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Ligeti, and Messiaen.
With a distinctive identity, he crafts sonic narratives built upon dense atmospheres, hybrid electroacoustic textures, and compositions rich in emotional intensity, where the recording studio becomes an essential element of his creative process.
